The Gallery was established in 2018 to showcase the Estate’s private collection and has since evolved into a space celebrating both emerging and re-emerging South African and African contemporary artists.

Beyond its own walls, the Gallery manages the display of art throughout the Estate, from the Wine Lounge and Siyalima to the Hotel and Homestead, ensuring that meaningful works enrich every corner of Hazendal. With new exhibitions presented every three to four months, the Gallery offers visitors a dynamic, ever-evolving art experience.

What the Body Keeps | A Recent Graduate Show

What the Body Keeps invites guests to slow down and engage with the body as a living archive — a space where memory, experience, and lineage are held, even when unspoken or unseen.
