1. Who we are

These are the terms of use for the Hazendal website. This contract is between anyone who uses the website and Hazendal Wine Estate (Pty) Ltd a private limited company incorporated in South Africa with company registration number 1994/02220/07 (‘Hazendal’, ‘we’, ‘us’).

2. Visting Hazendal

These are the terms that apply when you visit Hazendal. Note that there may also be other terms that apply to specific activities (e.g. visiting one of our restaurants).

2.1. Prices

All prices are in ZAR and VAT will be added.

2.2. General rules

While you visit us, please:

  • Follow all instructions, rules, and signs.
  • Keep an eye on your children.
  • This is a working farm. For your safety, please keep to the unrestricted areas and do not enter sites in which construction is taking place.
  • Look after your possessions.
  • Stay safe and be careful when you take part in dangerous activities.
  • No swimming, water sports, or playing in the reservoir and pond is allowed.
  • Only service dogs are allowed on the Estate.

2.3. Security

We may deny access to Hazendal at our own discretion.
The farm is monitored by CCTV cameras.

2.4. A disclaimer

You enter the farm and take part in the activities at your own risk. Hazendal Wine Estate (Pty) Ltd and our employees are not responsible for any injury to you or for the safety of your vehicle or possessions.

3. Bookings

3.1. Culinary experiences

3.1.1. Make a booking
We require advance bookings for:

  • Events hosted by Hazendal Wine Estate (Pty) Ltd
  • The Deli
  • Picnics
  • The Eatery
  • The Restaurant
  • Wine Tasting Experience
  • Sensory Food and Wine Pairing experience

While walk-ins are welcome for all the other activities available at Hazendal, we do recommend that you book in advance to avoid disappointment.

All bookings are done through Dineplan and their terms & conditions and privacy notice will apply. Dineplan will use best efforts to ensure that the Service is continuously available, but neither Dineplan nor Hazendal can guarantee this a 100% of the time. Please make sure that you receive a booking confirmation to avoid disappointment.

3.1.2. Deposits and cancellations

You have to pay a deposit to secure your booking. Your deposit amount will vary depending on the number of people you are making the booking for.

As part of the online booking process you will be directed to a 3D secure payment portal.

Once you have successfully paid the deposit, both of us will receive a payment confirmation and your booking will be secured.

If you cancel or change your reservation more than 24 hours before the start of your booking, you will receive a full refund of your deposit. You will not receive a refund if you give us less than 24 hours’ notice.

3.2. Weddings, parties, corporate functions

Hazendal offers venues for weddings, parties and corporate functions. These bookings are subject to separate terms & conditions which our function co-ordinators will provide to you.  If you would like to make a booking contact functions@hazendal.co.za.

3.3. Wonderdal

Wonderdal is an interactive edutainment centre for children between the ages of 5 and 13. For Terms & Conditions click here.

4. Visiting the website

4.1. We own the website content

You acknowledge that all intellectual property rights on our website, including the Hazendal trademark and all designs, text, graphics, pictures, information, data, software, sound files, other files and their selection and arrangement are the property of Hazendal or are licensed to us, unless we indicate that it is not.

4.2. Links to other websites

We may link to third party websites that are not ours and are not under our control.
We do not control these websites, or their content and we do not accept responsibility for their quality, content, nature or reliability.

4.3. Feedback

We own any feedback and may use it and modify it without any restrictions or payment to you. We will not publish your personal information with the feedback without your consent.

4.4. Where our responsibility ends

The Hazendal website is provided on an ‘as is’ and ‘as available’ basis. We do not make any warranties or representations, other than those specifically contained in this contract.

You cannot hold us responsible for any loss or harm that you suffer because you used, or could not use, the Hazendal website.

Specifically, we do not promise that:

  • this website will be constantly available or available at all; or that
  • the information on this website is always up to date and complete.

We will not be liable for any loss or damage of any nature that you may suffer if you rely on the content of the website.

You are responsible for your own security when you use our website.

Although we will try to prevent it from happening, we ae also not responsible for any malicious code (such as a virus) which may come from this website.

5. Giveaways

All contestants must reside in South Africa, be 18 years of age or older, and not be employed by Hazendal, our affiliates, subsidiaries, nor be members of immediate family or households.

Prizes are non-negotiable, non-transferable, and non-refundable. No cash alternative is available.

Contestants must follow the instructions outlined in the giveaway post on our Social Media platforms. Any entries that are incomplete or submitted after the deadline will be disqualified.

The winner and a substitute winner will be selected at random from all eligible entries received by the deadline. The winner will be announced on our Social Media stories which are available for 24 hours. The winner must send us a direct message on social media to claim their prize. If the winner does not respond within 7 days of the announcement the prize will be handed over to the substitute winner.
