WINE LOUNGE

Set in the farm’s original wine cellar, built circa-1870, the Hazendal Wine Lounge is a beautifully refurbished venue for visitors to discover the cellar’s terroir-driven range of wines. From deep-buttoned Harrington sofas at the eye-catching fireplace to the striking copper-clad bar, classic and contemporary touches combine in a single elegant space.

Whether you’re new to the world of wine, or an experienced connoisseur, our skilled Wine Lounge ambassadors are ready to share the history, terroir and winemaking philosophy of Hazendal with you.  Allow us to expertly guide you on a rewarding tasting journey. Experience a taste of Hazendal- wines with a sense of place.

We offer our Heritage range as well as Hazendal Estate range for tasting along with our Cap Classique Blanc de Blanc and Blanc de Noir.

Visitors can choose from a variety of tasting flights:

Food and Wine Pairing

Step into the elegant Wine Tasting Lounge as we introduce to you our exclusive Food and Wine Pairing, a unique experience crafted by the talented Executive Chef Michelle Theron in collaboration with our esteemed Winemaker and Viticulturist.

This extraordinary offering blends traditional South African cuisine with our Estate Range Wines in a four-course culinary journey. Each dish is beautifully presented on handcrafted ceramic vine leaf plates, adding an exquisite artisanal touch to the experience.

Bookings

Please note, to ensure your seat and avoid disappointment, we recommend making bookings in advance.

A deposit of R85.00 per person will be required to confirm the reservation. In the event of a no-show, the deposit will be forfeited. Bookings will be held for 15 minutes only.

Our standard operating hours are as listed below unless otherwise specified:

Monday – Thursday
10:00 – 17:00
(Last tasting at 15:30)

Friday – Sunday
10:00 – 20:00
(DJ set between 17:00 – 19:00)

Our Wines

Our vineyards are nestled in the north-westerly slopes of the Bottelary Hills. A range of different aspects, soil types and the influence of the cool Atlantic Ocean make for a variety of different terroirs paired with varieties that are best suited for each specific site. Our Winemaker and Cellar Master, ensures that every drop of wine is made with the utmost care in our state-of-the-art 120 tonne wine cellar.
